Looking for a unique date night this Valentine’s Day season? Bring your sweetheart to the Weston History & Culture Center and enjoy art and history on Thursday, February 15, 2024 at 6:30pm. Go behind the scenes of our exhibit, “Weston Illustrated: Penned, Painted and Sculpted” with curator Leslie Weiss. Sip a specialty cocktail and nibble hors d'oeuvres and sweets while Mrs. Weiss offers insight into the lives of the resident artists of “Weston Illustrated”.
Event takes place at the Weston History & Culture Center, 104 Weston Road in Weston, CT. Parking and entrance on High Acre Road. In the event of inclement weather, the event will be rescheduled for the following day, Friday, February 16.
Through the years many creative and talented artists found Weston’s milieu intoxicating. View rare images and content relating to the artists featured in this exhibition that highlights the work of creatives living and working in Weston during the first half of the 20th century. Artists such as Wood Cowan, Charles and James Daugherty, Stevan Dohanos, John Held Jr., Ada “Johnny” Held, William Meade Prince, Laura Gardin Fraser, Stuart Benson and many more will be mentioned during this program.
