School Programs
The Weston History & Culture Center is pleased to share the history of Weston with local students.
2nd Grade Program - Important People of Weston
As a kick off to their Biography unit, 2nd graders learn about Horace C. Hurlbutt Jr., the namesake of their school, as well as other Weston residents who have made an impact locally, nationally and globally. This program is presented by the Weston History & Culture Center's executive director, Samantha Kulish-Fargione, and uses historic images and video to explore these historical figures.
3rd Grade Program - Weston Long Ago
In conjunction with their Social Studies unit on Weston history, 3rd graders from Weston Intermediate School visit the Weston History & Culture Center to learn about aspects of everyday life in Weston years ago. Weston History & Culture Center Trustees, Director and Volunteers lead learning stations engaging students in hands-on activities that teach about Weston's agricultural history, geography, important events in Weston history as well as life for the Coley family in the 1940s.
The Weston History & Culture Center offers these programs to Home school students as well as schools from neighboring towns. If you are interested in bringing your class to visit the Weston History & Culture Center, please contact our executive director, Samantha Kulish-Fargione, for more information and pricing.
